What does Touch It sample?
Busta Rhymes rapping over Daft Punk's robot voice, which is how Kanye heard them first.
Touch It · Busta Rhymes, 2005
Where it came from
- Samples Technologic (Daft Punk, 2005). Swizz Beatz built the beat on altered "Technologic" vocals. Source: Wikipedia: Technologic, Wikipedia: Touch It (Busta Rhymes song)
What it became
- Led to Stronger (Kanye West, 2007). Kanye heard "Technologic" in "Touch It" on a tour bus, didn't know Daft Punk, and went digging. That's how "Stronger" started (A-Trak, Genius, 2015). Source: Wikipedia: Stronger (Kanye West song)
- Remixed as Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Alive 2007) (Daft Punk, 2007). "Touch It" and "Technologic" were remixed together on Alive 2007. Source: Wikipedia: Technologic, Wikipedia: Touch It (Busta Rhymes song)
